Hello Southeast IMAC pilots and fellow RC enthusiasts.
The Regional finals contest is just around the corner, and it is gearing up to be one of the best ones yet. We are going to be at Mac Hodges field in Andersonville GA. If you haven’t been there yet it is an incredible facility, the field offers nice clean restrooms, showers for those camping and a large pavilion. It will be a great experience for any pilot.
ALL Regions are welcome to attend; Toby Silhavy is coming from the North Central region with a new scoring system to be utilized alongside our standard one. I believe it is time to start looking towards the future with electronic scoring.
Please remember, this is a three-day event, you may arrive as early as Tuesday. With 30 pilots and daylight savings time during the contest, we will need to be ready to fly early and will fly with two flight lines going at the same time.
Tuesday through Thursday: Arrivals and practice days.
Friday Nov 11th:
Pilots meeting at 7:00 AM, Wheels up by 8:00 AM
Three full rounds of known sequences. Unknowns will be handed out at the end of flying.
Saturday Nov 12th:
Pilots meeting at 7:00 AM, Wheels up by 8:00 AM
First Unknown round, two full known rounds. Unknown will be handed out at the end of flying. Dinner and Raffle prizes.
Sunday Nov 13th:
Pilots meeting at 7:00 AM, Wheels up by 8:00 AM
Second Unknown round, One full known round, Freestyle/awards.
Of course, this is weather permitting so times and flight orders could change.
We need everyone to help make this a successful event.
Please be attentive to the flight order and be in the air before the previous pilot has finished his second sequence. Start your engine on figure 5, in the air by figure 8 and be in a holding pattern, your caller will tell you when time is to walk in front of the judges. Keep trimming flights to one.
I will be watching, and I will have a mic!
