  • 2020 Nats Dates are Confirmed

I wanted to announce a couple of items. First, it is my honor to have been selected from a myriad of candidates to be the event director for this year's Scale Aerobatic National Championships being held at AMA Headquarters in Muncie, Indiana.....ok, ok...I was told I was going to be Event Director!

But, I am excited for the challenge. We are growing again and have had lots of interest from the members in attending Nats this year, so it will be FUN!

The dates have been set July 12th - July 15th, 2020.

There will be more info to follow, but I wanted to give everyone notice to mark their calendars and plan to attend!

We opened the location for proposals to other locations and did not receive any. So, it will be I'm Muncie again this year.

But if anyone would like to start thinking about next year, I think it would be well received to hold it at an alternate location that makes sense.

Muncie is an excellent location, it has lots of space. Not too many club fields have such a large space.

That is a great point David. Not only is it the space that it brings, but also the built in infrastructure. As discussed on the old forums over the last few tears, there are many behind the scenes items that most of us do not see or know about that make a travelling NATS challenging. IMO, if your not looking at places like Clover Creek, Triple Tree, or an old airbase like Blytheville Arkansas (which has held 2 Pattern NATS 2017 and 2019) you're definitely going to be greatly challenged.
